Reducing Energy Consumption
We’re committed to improving energy efficiency.
We aim to reduce energy consumption and increase performance at our properties. To measure this, we use NABERSNZ Energy Ratings which assesses the energy outcomes and performance of office buildings. Our goal is to achieve higher ratings for all office buildings across our funds management portfolio. This will not only help us to reduce our environmental impact but also improve the bottom line for our tenants.
Minimising Carbon Emissions
We’re committed to do our part in combating climate change.
Oyster Management Limited is Toitū carbonreduce certified in line with ISO 14064-1 and as part of this programme, the business is audited annually by Toitū to review our carbon emissions. The programme assists Oyster to measure, manage and ultimately reduce the amount of carbon emissions that result from our everyday operations. Efficiently managing our carbon emissions is crucial to achieving our sustainability objectives and becoming an environmentally responsible organisation.
Integrating Smart Meters
We're committed to improving water and electricity consumption.
The installation of smart water and electricity meters better helps us to monitor our properties’ water and electricity usage. The data collected will assist in developing efficient consumption strategies and spot potential problems early; an essential part of our data harvesting project that will benefit our fund and property management operations.
Green Star Rated Buildings
We're committed to developments that meet environmentally responsible practices.
A Green Star “Design and As Built” building has recently been completed at Central Park in Greenlane, Auckland targeting 5-stars. To achieve this rating, the construction process involves using renewable energy sources, conserving water, and selecting materials with a low carbon footprint to reduce the building’s environmental impact. Achieving a 5 Star rating indicates that the building meets high standards for sustainability and environmental impact.
Oyster is also pursuing Green Star “Performance” certification across selected industrial and large format retail assets to demonstrate our commitment to sustainability and minimising our environmental impact.
